This week on PST, Jeff and Len get into the offseason moves our beloved Flyers have made and will likely be making in the coming weeks and months. First, the guys get into the Mark Streit deal that has been reported on – $5.25 million a season for 4 years. Is it a good move or not? Responding to PST tweets, fans emailed the guys their thoughts. Claude Giroux’s pending long-term contract signing is another topic discussed, as well as the hope that 18-year-old Darnell Nurse is available and drafted by the Broad Street Bullies on June 30, the date of the NHL Draft.
During the Brief News & Views segment, there’s much to discuss in the Eagles camp; rookie QB Matt Barkley’s contract signing and Jason Peter’s recent arrest. The guys then dive into a story reported by the blog site 700 Level about how the City of Philadelphia, the local government, still owes money toward Veterans Stadium…yes, you read that correctly. The final story is about Phil Mickelson’s 2nd place finish at the U.S. Open, played at Merion Golf Club right outside of Philadelphia.
