The one thing that can be said for the Eagles vs. Redskins week 3 game of the 2014 season is that it was certainly a nail biter. Frankly, not a great defensive effort by either team throughout the 60 minutes of game that was played, which meant both offenses could capitalize – and the Eagles did winning this week 37-34.
Due to a family emergency, Len was not in studio. However, Jeff took the reigns and provided his observations and analysis of the 3rd game played by the Birds this season that has them 3-0 atop of the NFC East division. While they won last week’s and this game by a combined 6 points, a win is a win, and us fans should be happy.
The biggest setback today came from the rushing attack, or lack thereof. The Eagles only garnered 54 rushing yards total, 12 came from QB Nick Foles and only 11 came from RB LeSean McCoy, the most elusive offensive weapon in the NFL. It’s something to keep an eye on for the future. Highlights go to QB Nick Foles for hanging in there all game while taking a brutal beating throughout, rookie WR Jordan Matthews catching 2 touchdown passes, and S Malcom Jenkins for his second interception in as many weeks.
It was a great win this week and the Eagles will head to face the 49’ers out west next week. A tough game on the road to say the least.
