Podcasting is a pretty amazing concept. Record audio, put it on a website or on iTunes and people anywhere in the world can listen to what you’re talking about. Plus, podcasting is a great way for all of us to stay informed. In the end, it’s what we truly enjoy doing on a weekly basis here at PST because of our passion for the world of Philly sports.
Just as important, we’ve been able to reach out to people not just here in the United States, but around the world, which is truly fascinating. A couple weeks ago we heard from a Philly sports fan in London, England. Now this week, we received a very cool note from a Philly sports fan in Melbourne, Australia. We wanted to share it with everyone today:
I just wanted to start by saying how much I love the show. I look forward to checking my podcast updates to see when the new episodes are released.
I live in Melbourne, Australia and lived just outside Philadelphia PA in 2002 for just over 9 months and became diehard Philly obsessed. I am actually writing this as i’m listening to your Eagles Cowboys post game podcast.
Living in Australia makes it hard to keep up to date with Philadelphia sporting news. I am a huge Birds fan and even made the pilgrimage to The Linc in 2010 to see the Eagles play. Unfortunately, it was the game against the Vikings that was postponed due to a blizzard and I was never able to see the game.
I went to the Vet back in 02 to see the Phils play and it was one of the best nights of my time in the US as we backed it up with a cheesesteak from Geno’s. Furthermore, I saw the Sixers get trounced by the Lakers when Kobe dropped 63 at the Staples.
I am heading back to the States over winter and will be making another trip to Philly to visit some friends. Also i will be seeing some Sixers and Flyers games. Yes that’s how committed I am, I am actually going to see the Sixers play.
I just wanted to add some insight on the London games.
As a supporter outside of US I like the idea of US sports going international for pre season and exhibition games, i think sending teams to London during the Season is ridiculous. I would never want to see the Eagles play anywhere but in Philadelphia, i would rather see us on TV with home field than possibly lose in Melbourne. 8 games are so important and we cannot waste any of them. Keep London for soccer and keep NFL teams in the US. Well that’s my opinion.
Keep up the great work.
