It’s that time of the year when the 2017 NFL and Eagles regular seasons are upon us! This week, we not only get into our predictions for the coming NFL year, but we also brought Jeff Kerr (@JeffKerr247), writer and contributor at CBS Sports and 247 Sports, onto the show for his analysis and thoughts surrounding this Philadelphia Eagles team.
We started this show by talking to Marnie Schneider, author of the children’s book Football Freddie & Fumble the Dog. The granddaughter of former Eagles owner Leonard Tose, Marnie discussed her family’s rich history in the City of Philadelphia and how her children’s book is generating a path to benefit charitable causes while educating our youth who are Eagles fans. (3:05)
But first, on the Brief News & Views segment:
1. The Phillies have promoted J.P. Crawford to the majors! (19:20)
2. Las Vegas put the over/under on the Sixers. (25:30)
3. Our NFL division and wild card winners, conference and Super Bowl champions. (30:15)
And then what we’re throwing down on the Table is our Eagles season preview and discussion with Jeff Kerr from CBS Sports and 247 Sports. We first talked about Doug Pederson’s role as the Eagles head coach, and also how Howie Roseman continues to build this roster. From there, we dove into expectations for Carson Wentz as he heads into his second season. Will the offensive line become a cohesive unit early in the season? Why is it necessary to have five running backs on the 53-man roster? Will the Birds defensive line be as dominant as many are expecting? All of these topics and much more on this week’s show and interview! (50:10)
